Purpose:
B&P Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated Wash Bay Technician to join our dynamic team. In this essential role, you will prepare aluminum and steel products for welding, finishing, and assembly, ensuring they meet exacting cleanliness standards. As a key player in our high-mix, high-volume shop specializing in Aerospace, Defense, and Material Handling Equipment, you will play a critical role in supporting multiple departments and ensuring the seamless flow of product to our welding and assembly processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare aluminum and steel components for welding, finishing, and assembly processes.
- Operate cleaning equipment, including pressure washers and chemical cleaning systems, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Perform inspections to ensure all cleaned products meet quality standards before moving to the next phase of production.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized wash bay area.
- Track and document completed tasks to ensure accurate workflow and inventory management.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, particularly in the handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting wash bay equipment as needed.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and handling of aluminum and steel materials is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working in an environment with exposure to water, cleaning agents, and moderate noise levels.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly pay: $15.00 – $17.00 (+ $2.50 2nd shift premium), based on experience and skill set
