Blast Technician:
Purpose:
B&P Manufacturing is a top manufacturer of material handling equipment including hand trucks, carts, ramps, and dollies. We are also a contract manufacturer of military shipping and storage containers and pride ourselves as a creator of custom solutions for our customers ever changing material handling needs, focusing on safety and efficiency. This position works closely with the military assembly supervisor. Experience is preferred but B&P Manufacturing is willing to train the right individual at entry level if needed. A candidate for this position is required to work alone to prep military components for finial finish in accordance with our prints and quality standards and to ensure we meet our delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sandblast ferrous components of all shapes and sizes
- Glass blast non-ferrous components of all shapes and sizes
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Transport unfinished and finished product to and from the blasting garage
- Communicate needs and issues related to the blasting process
- Transport and fill the compressor to the fuel station as necessary
- Pressure washing & steam cleaning of metal parts
- Miscellaneous general labor tasks as needed
Job Requirements/Skills:
- Fork Truck License – Will train and certify if applicable
- Ability to wear a blasting suit and blasting hood
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work with little direction and supervision
Physical requirements:
- Required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Required to repeatedly scoop sand/glass into buckets and load the blasting hopper
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or hold a state or military approved high school equivalency diploma.
- Ability to pass a drug screening
Compensation:
Negotiable and competitive compensation ranging from $15.00-$20.00 per hour plus $2.50 per hour shift premium, based on qualifications and experience. B&P Manufacturing offers a full benefits package including: medical, optical, dental, paid vacation/holidays, 401K with matching, and education reimbursement. This position is first shift and full time with a minimum of 40 hours per week, overtime may be required occasionally but the employee will be compensated accordingly (time and a half).
